Scandalous Allegations, Kardashian Drama & Vampire Babies: November 2011 Buzz
Accusations are Flying
Scandals were plentiful this month with the disturbing Penn State scandal at the top of the charts. Early in the month, serious allegations of sexual assault on children were brought against former defensive coach Jerry Sandusky. His former boss, Joe Paterno, who was still the active head coach of 46 years, announced he would retire at the end of the season after being accused of not taking enough action in the matter at the time it occurred. That same night, Paterno and Penn State president Graham Spanier were both fired. In a phone interview with Bob Costas the following week, Sandusky did a less than stellar job of defending himself.
In other scandals, additional accusations have hurdled towards presidential candidate Herman Cain, delivering yet another blow to his electability. Allegations of sexual harassment have been brought forward by lawyer Gloria Allred for several clients including Sharon Bialek, who stepped forward to speak about Cain. The latest person to speak up is Ginger White, who claims to have had a casual affair with Cain for 13 years. His campaign reassured voters he is not intending to drop out of the race, but let's check in again next month.
On Nov 1st, 20-year-old Mariah Yeater publically claimed that Justin Bieber was the father of her three-month-old son. Bieber stated that he had never met the woman, and took a paternity test 3 weeks later. Soon after, the paternity case was dropped. According to the New York Post, Bieber is planning to sue Yeater for defamation.
Kardashian Drama
After a $10 million TV media event, and 72 days of marriage, on October 31st, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from her new husband Kris Humphries. Though angered fans put together a Kardashian boycott in attempts to remove the family from TV, ratings remained as high as ever. Even Michael Buble let the situation set off his temper, but as we all know, any publicity is good publicity. Humphries is hoping to get the marriage annulled.
Vampire Babies
Vampire Babies spiked off the charts this month with the release of the latest film of the Twilight Saga. This most recent installment, titled "Breaking Dawn" includes the wedding of Bella and Edgar, as well as the birth of their very first vampire baby. Fans had a bloodlust for information regarding the film, including the soundtrack, actors, Bella Swan's wedding dress (now available in boutiques), and most of all, as previously mentioned, vampire spawn and where their place is in the world.
