The Australian Open served up its last bit of buzz over the weekend, and this year's tourney provided plenty of searchworthy storylines. Roger Federer cemented his status as one of the greatest tennis players of all time with his win, and searches on the tough-serving Swissman jumped 59% for the week.

Federer vanquished an unlikely foe in the final: Cinderella story Marcos Baghdatis. The young Cypriot was ranked 54th in the world going into Melbourne and had no buzz to speak of, but his amazing leap to the pinnacle boosted his searches into the thousands. He also managed to raise the profile of his homeland in Buzz, lifting searches on Cyprus 53%. When one man moves the buzz of an entire country, all we can say is -- smashing!

Baghdatis didn't stop there -- he also contributed to a rise in searches on his extremely fetching girlfriend, Camille Neviere. Tennis dudes always seem to get the hottest chicks, or have you forgotten the hubbub that surrounded James Blake's girlfriend at the U.S. Open? Neviere, who's a model when not rooting for her man, also set off spikes on "marcos baghdatis girlfriend."

This year's Aussie was also notable because the men's buzz eclipsed the women's. With most of the big names on the women's tour ousted, we were left to muddle through the finale without any "-ova" power. Winner Amelie Mauresmo (+293%) shot skyward, as did her opponent Justine Henin-Hardenne (+91%), who bagged out of the final, citing an injury. Booooo!
